Parents and Community,
I am humbled to be a part of John H. Shary Elementary as the Teacher Facilitator. I hold a bachelor's degree in Business Administration/Marketing from the University of Texas-Pan American, a Masters in Educational Leadership from the University of North Texas, and am currently enrolled in the Doctoral program for Organizational Leadership at Abilene Christian University. My past experiences include having worked for Mission CISD and Grapevine-Colleyville ISD in both the lower and upper grades in bilingual, one-way dual, and two-way dual programs, as well as served as a campus Literacy Interventionist. My first career began in Marketing with Univision TV/Radio; this experience has allowed me to continue to apply creativity for innovative and engaging student learning lessons.
I believe that the foundation to a successful year begins with building relationships and making connections with our teachers, students, and parents. I also believe healthy communication is the key to any successful relationship. Like my mother has always said, “hablando bien, se arreglan las cosas” (“things can be resolved when communicating effectively”).
With the previous and current challenges that continue to be presented to us, I am determined to support our campus educators and work collaboratively with them, along with our community, to help our students rise up to excellence while keeping their social-emotional well-being at the forefront. Only then will we see academic growth when students are acknowledged first for the amazing people that they are, highlighting the strengths they possess, and addressing their developmental needs along the way.
As a product of Mission, I am proud to continue to be a part of this amazing community serving the students and workforce of our future. I am excited for this new school year and look forward to working together with you as the Diamondback Triad Team (parent/student/educator) that will foster fruitful outcomes!
