Smith, Melinda

My name is Melinda Smith and I teach first grade here at John H. Shary Elementary.

I have taught in Sharyland ISD since 2006. I have a passion for Early Childhood Education and love to see our littlest students grow and learn. I was honored to be named John H. Shary Campus Teacher of the Year in 2016-17 as well as District Teacher of the year 2016-17. I accredit those honors to all the teachers and administrators I have worked with throughout the years that have inspired and challenged me to be the best that I can be!

I was an Air Force “military brat” growing up and moved around a lot during my youth. The Valley has been home to me and my family since 2001.

I am so happy and excited to be working with you and your students! Only together can our students be truly successful! I look forward to another awesome year!
