Dear John H. Shary Elementary Community,
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. As a ten-year educator at Sharyland Independent School District, I am both honored and proud to serve as a Professional School Counselor at JHS Elementary! My experience includes 10 years teaching English Language Arts and Reading at Sharyland ISD. I hold a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Allied Health from Texas A&M University, College Station, and a Master of Education in Counseling and Development with a specialization in Professional School Counseling from Lamar University.
As an educator and school counselor, I believe that every child deserves a champion; I believe in advocating for and fostering the whole child through supporting their social, emotional, academic, and career development needs while supporting parents, the teachers/staff, the district, and the community at large. During the school day, you will find me out and about through the hallways and in classrooms providing age-appropriate classroom guidance lessons. I am also available to meet with students one-on-one and in small groups.
For the 2021-2022 school year, I will be working with the following grade levels: Pre Kindergarten, 1st Grade, 3rd Grade, and 5th Grade. However, I am available to meet with all students. With that being said, I would like to give each of you a warm welcome, as I am so excited that you are here!
